Course of fire
1Bolt-action — 10 rounds standing unsupported × 2 strings (20 total)
2Semi-auto issued before 1950 — 8 rounds standing unsupported × 2 strings within 45 sec (16 total)
Target: 24"×18" silhouette on chains at 300 yards; spotters confirm and record hits.
Rules & equipment
- Original issue configuration only — no custom stocks, enhanced sights, or competition triggers.
- Steel-core ammunition is banned; all ammo is checked with a magnet.
- Rifles are loaded only on the safety officer's command; no handling while anyone is downrange.
- Open bolt indicators required off the firing line. A spotting scope is suggested.
- Multiple entries allowed if time permits — bragging rights plus a random prize drawing.
